This is one of my favorite photos because
I grew up only blocks from here. This was probably torn down
by the time I would remember such things. Park Pontiac sat on
Dickinson Street right behind Coyle & Richardson Dept Store,
which you can see in this photo from the 40s. Many older people
remember the name "Park Your Car Incorporated". Is
that how the business started? Parking cars? I'm not sure.
The first time I remember Park Pontiac was when they built the nice
new showroom on Washington Street beside the Saint Francis Hospital,
and where I saw the very first "GTO", a car that would
later pass into legend in my time.
