Kanawha Valley Dragstrip in the late 50s.

 

Kanawha Valley Dragstrip was a mainstay in the area for many years from the late 50s through the late 70s.  It was known by different names like: Winfield Dragstrip, and  Rt 17 Dragstrip, but officially it was the Kanawha Valley Dragstrip.   It was located on what is now Rt 817 a few miles before you enter Winfield.

Oddly enough, less than a week later the
drag Strip owner had his car stolen....
