This photo shows
Charleston during it's boom days. The street you're looking at
here is Quarrier Street., and you'll notice that it ends at Capitol
Street. In the panorama, you can see a grand old home on
McFarland Street. Also, Dickinson Street on the right, ends
at Quarrier Street. On the right is the old public library, but
is still the Capitol Annex at this time. Behind it you can make out the
steeples of the old Capitol itself. To the left of the Annex is
the heating plant for the Capitol complex. Many buildings in this
photo still exist.
