EAST END AT ELK

This is another of my favorite photos because it shows so much detail and how things have really changed in this area. For instance,  the Municipal Auditorium is under construction in the lower right corner, which places this photo at 1939.  The new Blvd is about a mile long. Notice all the empty lots, especially near the Blvd and Clendennin Streets.

Moving down a bit we again see the Municipal Auditorium and the county courthouse and city hall. 

Now it gets interesting again: Notice that all the buildings that used to set on the river side of the Blvd are still there. This is because the Blvd only stretches from Court Street to Delaware Ave at this point. See the large photo for more.
