THE AFTERMATH Almost
a week after the flood, I went back to visit Clendenin and the
surrounding area to see the result. At this time, people were
still without water, electricity, or even a store to purchase needed
items. Fortunately as always, the people of WV banded
together and descended on the town with help from every
direction. People also came from out of state to bring food, cleaning
supplies and needed items to Clendenin and the surrounding areas.
This looked like a war zone for weeks.

The Dairy Queen had been a fixture in Clendenin for many years. Now nothing left but a pile of rubble.
