Bauer Meat & Fish Market

This wonderful photo first appeared in the Gazette
around 1900. Bauers Market was located on the corner of Capitol St & Virginia St for many years,
closing in 1929. Let's take a look at what's for sale: There are two 8 point Bucks, plus
a third smaller deer. Hanging up are chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, Pheasant
Grouse and Quail. There were no wild game laws in those days, (and apparently no refrigeration needed.)
